Here Comes the Pun

For over a decade, we have spent millions of hours building the largest encyclopedia in human history. Right now, the U.S. Congress is considering legislation that could fatally damage the free and open Internet. For 24 hours, to raise awareness, we are blacking out Wikipedia. Learn more.

I think that’s pretty clear! Yet there are tweets like this:

• Why the FUCK is wikipedia blacked out?
• FUCK!!! whats wrong with wikipedia???????
• Soooo is Wikipedia gone forever?
• Is wikipedia down? If so, is it temporary or forever?
• Why has wikipedia gone? I think they have done this on purpose. #confused

All of these questions, amusingly, could have been answered by simply READING WIKIPEDIA. Apparently, we’ve raised a generation of kids with such short attention spans that they can’t even be bothered to read three full sentences or click a link.
