Also, road trip anyone (serious question)? This is at least the fifth time I’ve seen this map labelled as “the best craft breweries in America.” It’s not. It’s a map of the Top 50 Craft Breweries by Sales Volume, based on 2007 numbers from the Brewers Association (hence why Flying Dog is still listed as Denver, CO and not Frederick, MD). Someone’s inevitably going to get upset that a brewery that makes amazing beer was left off of this map, and they’re going to be upset for no reason. No beer geek would argue that Boston Beer Company is the “best brewery in America,” and this map isn’t claiming it is. Get it right, people!

This is at least the fifth time I’ve seen this map labelled as “the best craft breweries in America.” It’s not. It’s a map of the Top 50 Craft Breweries by Sales Volume, based on 2007 numbers from the Brewers Association (hence why Flying Dog is still listed as Denver, CO and not Frederick, MD). Someone’s inevitably going to get upset that a brewery that makes amazing beer was left off of this map, and they’re going to be upset for no reason. No beer geek would argue that Boston Beer Company is the “best brewery in America,” and this map isn’t claiming it is.
